Smith Clinic - Our History

frederick c smith.jpg (24715 bytes)Smith Clinic in Marion, Ohio, was founded by Dr. Frederick C. Smith in 1925. He was a pioneer in the group practice concept, and later served his community as mayor and congressman.

The general practice of Dr. Smith grew with the addition of his partners, including his sons, Dr. Frederick G. Smith and Dr. Philip W. Smith, who both served as president and medical director.

The original building was at 240 E. Church St. in Marion. The present building, opened in 1955, is at 1040 Delaware Avenue, next to the Harding Memorial, resting place of President and Mrs. Warren G. Harding. Smith Clinic opened its first offices in Delaware, Ohio, in 1983, and consolidated services at 6 Lexington Boulevard in 1997.

Smith Clinic's logo is a maple leaf.  Its green color symbolizes new beginnings, renewed life, or health.  The veins in the leaf represent the various services which are interconnected and available to you.
